Students have been given a copy of the instructions and rubric for the year-long reading scrapbook. Each quarter students are expected to read two novels from different genres and one short story, poem, or essay that are grade-level appropriate. There are twelve different genres students are expected to have read from and they are included on their copy of the instructions.
For each novel and short story, poem, or essay students are expected to create a scrapbook page for each piece of literature. Each quarter students are to turn in three scrapbook pages for each literature detailing the summary, give it a detailed rating, and be creative. The scrapbook pages are each worth a quiz grade with the final reading scrapbook being worth two test grades at the end of the year.
Students are expected to keep up with their rubric and scrapbook pages. If students lose their scrapbook pages or their rubric it will be a loss in points lowering their final grade.
